Taking control of your body and reducing the amount of fat storages you have is important for most people today. There is a growing trend of people choosing to eat low carb meals for the simple fact that carbohydrates are responsible for storing energy in the body for later. However, most people only see the word carbs and whether the term good or bad is being used is mostly irrelevant. However, you do need to pay close attention to what kind of carbohydrates you do take in on a daily basis because they are not just for storing fat.

Carbohydrates play other important roles in the body such as delivering the energy to the muscles so they can function. These carbs can also help aid the immune system in fighting of diseases and infections. These are the differences between the good and bad carbs, and when you choose to eat low carb meals, then you should be focusing more on eating less or as little of the bad carbs as possible, while increasing the consumption of your good carbs.

Why is this so important though? Well its simple really, you cannot expect to lose weight from dieting alone, you have to exercise. When you exercise, your muscles need energy; and it is the carbs which deliver that energy (protein) to the muscles so they can become big and strong. It is often said that a good meal should incorporate the most important things someone needs. For breakfast this is eggs for protein, toast for the good carbohydrates and of course milk and juice for the vitamins and minerals. A true low carb meal needs to encompass the important things your body needs and not include those which you can do without. You need good carbohydrates and protein as well as vitamins and minerals, but you do not need bad carbs and fat.
